Techiman is a city and serves as the capital of both the Techiman Municipal and the Bono East Region of Ghana. Located in South Ghana, Techiman is renowned as a prominent market town and is one of the major cities within the Bono East region. The city is home to West Africa's largest traditional market and had a settlement population of 104,212 people in 2013. Situated at the intersection of historical trade routes and the Tano River, Techiman also functions as the capital of the Techiman Municipal District.
