Offinso is a town located in the Offinso Municipality, within the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Situated only a short 15-minute drive from Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, many Offinso natives have relocated to Kumasi. The town has a predominantly Asante (Asantefoɔ) population, which means that the Asante culture is dominant in the area. The name "Offinso" is derived from the local name for the River Ofe, which is pronounced "ɔfe" in the Asante language. This river serves as the boundary between the Offinso South Municipality and Ahenkro, which is a nearby town in the Afigya Sekyere District, also located within the Ashanti Region of Ghana.
