Nkawkaw is a town situated in the southern part of Ghana, serving as the capital of the Kwahu East District, which is located in the Eastern Region of southern Ghana. As of 2013, the settlement population of Nkawkaw was 61,785 people. The town is often referred to as a "city in a valley" since it serves as the gateway for ascending the Kwahu mountains.
