Situated at an altitude of 367 meters on the Kwahu Plateau, which marks the southwest boundary of Lake Volta, Mpraeso is a town and serves as the capital of Kwahu South district in the southern part of Ghana's Eastern Region. As of 2013, the settlement had a population of 11,190 people.
